Great Lakes Network Project on the Implementation of UNSCR 1325
FAS 3-years regional project on national action plans on the implementation of UNSCR 1325 in three pilot countries (Burundi, Rwanda, DRC) in Africa works towards the elaboration and implementation of a National Action Plan (NAP) by pushing targeted Member States in Africa to respect their commitment to gender equality and mainstreaming in peace and security policies and plans and providing adequate protection to victims of gender-based violence (GBV) during conflicts.

Project on Engendering the Peace Process in Darfur
Following a solidarity and fact-finding mission of eminent women to Chad led by Mrs. Mary Robinson in September 2007, and after the mission's lobby to the UN General Assembly high level meeting on Darfur in New York and to the UN Security Council on the occasion of the Arria Formula organized by France respectively in September and October of the same year, and in January 2008, an African Women's Consultation on Darfur in Addis Ababa, FAS has decided to embark on a project "Engendering the peace process in Darfur" to support the participation of Sudanese women in the peace process. It includes 5 main objectives:
- Mapping out women's initiatives in Darfur;
- Organizing an African Women's Conference to develop a common agenda for peace for the Darfuri women;
- Advocating at the regional and international level for peace in Darfur;
- Providing training to Darfuri women for them to contribute to the engendering of the peace process;
- Documenting and ensuring visibility of their efforts.
