About us
Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting women’s leadership in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, governance, and sustainable development across Africa.
Founded in 1996 in Geneva, FAS was created to mobilize African women and ensure their voices and leadership are recognized as essential to building lasting peace and inclusive societies. Since its establishment, the organization has worked to strengthen the role of women as agents of change, dialogue, and transformation in Africa.
Through advocacy, partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives, FAS supports women leaders, civil society organizations, and institutions in advancing gender equality and sustainable peace.
Vision
We envision an Africa where peace processes are inclusive and gender-responsive, and where women play a central role in shaping human security, justice, and durable peace across the continent.
Mission
Our mission is to empower African women and strengthen their leadership in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, governance, and sustainable development through advocacy, capacity building, partnerships, and policy engagement at national, regional, and international levels.
